AKWAABA,
You found us! A Ghana based organization welcoming volunteers to assist at multiple projects around the city of Kumasi. Besides contributing to projects initiated by other NGO’s or the government we have recently founded SMILE, a Sustainable Multifunctional Institute & Learning Experience.
The Institute facilitates childcare for independant entrepeneurs and living quarters for volunteers. During the week local attendants welcome two groups of toddlers and preschoolers from the villages around the centre.

SMILE initiates courses for teenagers and facilitates projects started by (women’s) groups from the surrounding area. Adults from the nearby villages are involved in cultivating the land as well as any building projects on the compound.


The aim is to create a self-sustaining Institute. With our solar panels producing power, a well supplying drinking water, drip-irrigation by rainwater collected from two big tanks nursing various crops, small cattle for meat and eggs we are on our way to provide all the means to make an interesting living and learning environment for preschool children, Ghanaians and visitors as well as an excellent cultural experience for volunteers from abroad who like to help us achieve our goals in Ghana, Africa!
